Finding good books for the right ages can be overwhelming, so I’m here to give a little guidance on what books your kids might enjoy at all their different ages. Starting to read with your kids early makes all the difference and can be an indicator of life-long learning and brain development.
Reading helps kids develop language skills, gain independence, build critical thinking skills, expand their worldview, learn empathy, enhance their imaginations, and so much more. Reading is a gift you can give your child at any age. It’s never too late to encourage them to read!

Books to Movies Edition:
This month I’m offering some great books that have been turned into films. Having your child read a book BEFORE seeing the movie is an incredible way to get your kid to create an imaginative world of their own and then see how another mind has imagined the same story. This fosters critical thinking skills by seeing how adaptations are just different interpretations of one story. It is also a great reward for your child for finishing the book, which can help encourage reluctant readers. And, your kids will see that there are benefits to actually reading the story because most films have to cut out significant parts of the story for the sake of time.
